Because I might be writing about this book for a Big Name Magazine, I can't write much about Elin Hilderbrand's
A Summer Affair
. But I will say this: It's good. I liked it. It's not my favorite Elin Hilderbrand novel (that would be
The Love Season
), but I think a lot of people will enjoy reading it when it comes out in July. And, on a personal note, I love love LOVE that the main character grew up in Wildwood Crest. I smiled literally ear to ear when I read that (if you're just tuning in, I wrote a
book about the Jersey Shore that's coming out in May).
Side note: The galley had a 'new' summary stickered onto the back cover. Of course I had to rip that sticker off to find out why -- the names of two main characters changed. I wonder why...
Since I can't write at length about this book, check out what I wrote about Hilderbrand's last book,
Barefoot
, which was
my favorite novel of 2007.
Also
Book 17 of 52 Barbara Smit's
Sneaker Wars: The Enemy Brothers Who Founded Adidas and Puma and the Family Feud That Forever Changed the Business of Sport
, which I wrote about for the March issue of
Paste magazine, comes out soon. I forget sometimes how far out I get to read books (I get publisher advance copies), so I'll keep trying to re-link to those reviews when the books actually come out.
**REMINDER** I'm am writing an article about guys who like to read. So if you'd like to chime in, hit up the comments or send me an email at jenmiller27 [at] gmail [dot] com.
